Account shutdown- no notice, no recourse
I setup an account to sell via credit cards, and all went well. On our first day, we couldn't access the system, reporting the password or email was incorrect, even though we confirmed them to be correct. Reset feature didn't work, had to call for service, which got us running. Ran fine for the rest of the day. Following day -exact same problem, unable to resolve with service tech on phone because account is "under review" - no notice or anything, just shut down the business! I am losing sales. Also unable to transfer balance from previous sales, due to account lock out. Tech on phone was unable to do anything to help due to account being "Under Review". Would Not Recommend for a small business - poor support, and poor communications will close your business unless you can do cash or some other payment method. Any money you have on account is theirs to keep.
Saves TIME for a busy person
I have used Square for years now and love the fact that my charges (to clients) are automatically sent to my bank next day usually. It saves me the time of having to go transfer the money after a sale.

Square has been awesome for my business. The ease of use makes it easy to train employees and I love that I can get my money same day if I need it. Square is the best small business POS on the market
Yet another business gets greedy feeds…
Yet another business gets greedy feeds from small businesses. Adding a 30 dollar fee to send confirmation texts to my clients is absolutely trying to steal from the pockets of hardworking independents who ALREADY pay transaction fees! I will be looking into other services who have it together.
Square is nickel and diming
Their recent unannounced update to their appointments functionality is some nickel and dime BS!. They moved Google calendar syncing, multiple location appointment support to a tiered feature for $30 / month. This has been free for over 7 years at least. Now maybe $30 / month isn't a huge cost for some people but it also isn't a huge new feature for Square. It's not like they have been working hard at developing calendar syncing. This is a standard feature every other appointment app offers. They just decided to gouge their users.

I'm fine with square changing the platform of different levels of service, but the one thing that they should have not taken away to us small business single people is the calendar sinking because now it makes it more work to book an appointment to have to go back and forth between personal schedules and work schedule.
